HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — The voting ended at 8 p.m. and the results are being tallied in local and congressional primary races across New Jersey.
Not every candidate faced a primary opponent in their election Tuesday. But political observers tend to like to know how many votes their candidate attained in the race. The general election will be held on Nov. 8 (see the timeline in New Jersey here).
In Hoboken and Jersey City, there were no mayor or council races this year. But voters were able to vote in the primaries to nominate a candidate for the November congressional races.

8th Congressional District: Voting Results
The 8th Congressional District serves Hoboken, part of Jersey City, East Newark, Guttenberg, Harrison, North Bergen, Union City, West New York, Fairview, and parts of Newark and Kearny.

Three candidates vied on Tuesday for the Democratic nomination. They will face the sole Republican nominee, Marcos Arroyo, in November.
The candidates for the Democratic nomination were:
- Robert J. Menendez
- David Ocampo Grajales
- Ane Roseborough-Eberhard

Democrats Frank X. Schillari and E. Junior Maldonado ran unopposed in the primary for sheriff and county clerk, respectively. They will face Republicans Hussain Kolani and Beth Hamburger in November.
