American Apparel To Close Jersey City Mall Location: Report

Jersey City, NJ – If you were planning to do holiday gift returns at the American Apparel’s Newport Centre store, it might pay off to get them done by Jan. 30.
That’s when the Los Angeles-based retail chain, which operates 230 stores worldwide, will be closing its location in the Jersey City mall, according to BizJournals.com.
The planned closure is part of the company’s effort to close eight “underperforming” stores as part of a Chapter 11 reorganization, BizJournals.com reported.

According to the company website, American Apparel also operates New Jersey stores in Hoboken, Cherry Hill, Paramus and Edison.
