Influencer And Hoboken Native 'Clavicular' To Make Changes After Hospital Stay, He Says

Clavicular's spokesman is no longer working for him, the rep told Patch. He told the Times he gave the star an "ultimatum."

HOBOKEN, NJ — The social media influencer "Clavicular," a Hoboken native who's known for encouraging men to "looksmax" — in other words, work on their appearance to attract women — spent time in the hospital this week, and then told his worried fans on video that he'll make changes.

Braden Peters, 20, has attracted a flurry of attention in the last three months — with profiles in the New York Times, Atlantic, and more — highlighting his extreme measures to achieve good looks.

Among those measures, he has discussed the use of hormones, "bone-smashing," and jaw surgery to look better. (The Times profile said that when he was a teen and attending Seton Hall Preparatory School, his parents threw out testosterone that he ordered from the internet. He made similar comments in a video interview.)

While some profiles have said his methods could have an harmful effect on impressionable on young men, others noted a positive spin on neurodivergence, since the influencer has described himself as an "autist."

But in the last few weeks, Peters has been in and out of trouble, as documented in a Times story on Thursday.

The story says Peters was released from the hospital Wednesday, then headed to a club that night, something the influencer also acknowledged on Wednesday in videos (see 1:43).

Last month, he was charged with battery in Florida for his alleged involvement in a fight between a female friend and another woman on camera, reports said.

On Tuesday, his followers posted video of moments before he wound up in the hospital Tuesday.

'That Was Brutal'

On Wednesday, Peters said in the media, on social media, and in video clips that he's going to make changes after the incident.

"Just got home, that was brutal," he posted on X. "All of the substances are just a cope trying to feel neurotypical while being in public, but obviously that isn't a real solution. The worst part of tonight was my face descending from the life support mask."

"The worst part is you could have died," wrote a commenter, with others begging him to find different friends.

Publicist Responds

Peters' former publicist, Mitchell Jackson, told Patch on Thursday that he no longer works for Peters "as of today."

He answered followup questions by saying Peters neither fired him nor hired another publicist, but declined to comment further. He later elaborated in a New York Times story, saying he'd given the "looksmaxxer" an ultimatum: Make major lifestyle changes, or he won't work with him. Read about that in the Times piece here.
