HOBOKEN, NJ — A kitchen fire temporarily closed a popular bagel restaurant in Hoboken on Wednesday.
The Hoboken Fire Department responded to O'Bagel at 600 Washington St. on Wednesday afternoon, said Hoboken public safety spokeswoman Marci Rubin.
The staff at the restaurant were able to put out the fire quickly with a fire extinguisher, she said.
However, the business must complete a "thorough cleaning" of the kitchen, including professional grease removal, before reopening, Rubin said.
"The cause was determined to be excessive grease buildup," she said.
There was no significant damage, and no injuries were reported.
