HOBOKEN, NJ — Hoboken promised their combined Memorial Day and Semiquincentennial Parade would be the largest ever, and it was a massive event, combining patriotism, art, history, and music.
It stepped off at First and Washington streets on Saturday morning.
The parade, a partnership between the city, the Hoboken Division of Cultural Affairs, the Hoboken Historical Museum, American Legion Post 107, and the Hoboken Business Alliance, headed from First Street up to a stage on 11th Street.
American Legion Post 107 member Joe Truglio led the marchers, a group that also included Hoboken's public safety divisions, the Hoboken High School Rockin' Redwings, the 63rd Army Band, and the Hawthorne Caballeros.
Professional entertainers included Zach Alexander, Charlie Lopez Band, Fred Lehotay & the Ragtimers, and more.
