Severe Thunderstorm Watch And Flood Watch Issued For Hudson County: See Timing, Maps

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — A severe thunderstorm watch is now in effect for Hudson County until 8 p.m. Tuesday night, around the time of high tide on the Hudson River.

A flood watch has also been issued for the county until 8 a.m. Wednesday.

As much as 2.5 inches of rain may fall on Tuesday, with most at night, the National Weather Service said. Another three quarters of an inch could fall Wednesday, the NWS said.

A sudden storm on Monday night caused massive flooding to the west and north of Hudson County, and even set fire to a Bergen County house, officials said. READ MORE: Lightning Strike Sets Home On Fire In North Jersey

The city of Hoboken sent a message to residents on Tuesday reminding them not to drive around flood barriers.
