Family-friendly activities and community engagement experiences are also planned, along with a live beat showcase and an awards ceremony honoring people making a lasting community impact.

"Summer Blockfest was built to create opportunity, celebrate culture, and bring people together," said Victor M. Lopez, the festival's founder. "What started as a neighborhood idea has grown into a platform that uplifts local talent, supports small businesses, and showcases the creativity that exists throughout our communities."

This year's event also includes a partnership with the Hoboken Public School District for a Back-to-School Book Bag Giveaway.

Live Performers

Featured performers will include Ray Pearson, MP14, Taz, Pootie, KingLVT, Ray Spitta, Chaseland, Bri Breesh and Rose Image, along with several other artists. The DJ lineup includes DJ BriPee, Mister Angel, DJ Madness, DJ Takefive and DJ Shuffle.

Summer Blockfest is scheduled to take place at the plaza at 770 Jackson St. from noon to 7 p.m. on Saturday, with a rain date of Sunday.
