The National Weather Service says that for Saturday, there's a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m., then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 2 a.m. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall.

Sunday, expect showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 11 a.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

The city of Hoboken said, "Sunday, Sept. 13, starting at 4 a.m. NWS forecasts average rainfall of 1.5 to 3 inches with locally higher amounts possible. Peak hourly rates could reach 1.5 to 2.5 inches.

"Residents are reminded that low-lying parts of Hoboken can flood if more than 0.8 inches of rain per hour falls, especially around high tide."

High tide is scheduled for 10:48 a.m., and it's going to be on the higher side — 5.3 feet.

The Office of Emergency Management has positioned barricades. "Floodwaters can be deeper than they appear and can cause vehicles to stall, which can impact emergency response times. Driving through the water can also produce wakes that can cause buildings to flood," the city noted.

Residents should report clogged catch basins to the NHSA hotline at (866) 689-3970. Report any power outages to PSE&G at 1-800-436-7734 or https://nj.pseg.com/outageandgasleaks
