HOBOKEN, NJ — Three schools in Hoboken were locked down on Thursday afternoon following a phone threat, officials said.
Hoboken High School, as well as Wallace and Brandt elementary schools, were locked down, city officials said shortly before 3 p.m.
Streets closed from Seventh to Tenth street and Willow Avenue to Adams Street, the city said.
Schools Superintendent Christine Johnson said in a message to the community that a phone threat was received on Thursday.
All schools were dismissed by 3:30 p.m.
Johnson told Patch that sports games are still on for the afternoon.
"The police have indicated that there is no reason to cancel any after school activities," she said. "So, all games etc. are still on."
She did not have further details of the investigation, but will be debriefed by police, she said. Patch will update this story when more details are received.
