The show, often abbreviated as "For Colored Girls...," will run from Nov. 6-15.

A spokesperson for the theater, located on Hoboken's 14th Street, said, "Filled with passion and raw honesty, Shange's form-changing choreopoem tells the stories of seven women of color using poetry, song, and movement. With unflinching candor and emotion, each woman voices her survival story of having to exist in a world shaped by sexism and racism."

"This work continues to give voice to the interior lives of women of color with a force and beauty unmatched in our national theater."

A choreopem combines monologues, poetry, dance, music, and more.

The production will be directed by Daryl Stewart and co-directed and choreographed by Justin Dominic, with movement directed by Nikkia T. Neal.

The production stars Dr. Lynn Irby Hill (as the Lady in Red), CiMa (Lady in Purple), and Brissae Valdes (Lady in Yellow). Tony Award–winner Trezana Beverly serves as acting coach and production consultant.

"Shange's masterpiece is a soul-stirring, intergenerational invitation to reclaim the full spectrum of our humanity—from the glorious to the gut-wrenching," Stewart said.

Opening night on Friday will include a post-performance toast.

Saturday will include a 7 p.m. performance and post-performance talkback including Q&A.

Nov. 13 will be "Divine Nine Night."

Mile Square Theater, located at 1400 Clinton St., was founded as a nonprofit in 2003.
