The Hoboken Elysianettes Running Society announced that the 2nd Annual HoBOOken 5K & Scary Scurry Kids Run on October 29, 2011 raised over $27,000 to benefit the Hoboken Shelter.

Race sponsors included 35-Minute Bootcamps, Bin-it, Ivy Rehab, Mimi Yoga for Everyone!, Betterment, Hartshorn Portraiture, Lev-10, Wicked Wolf Tavern, Inserra Supermarkets and Fleet Feet.

The threat of a rare October snow storm didn’t scare off the nearly 1000 runners of all ages who braved the elements to complete the race. Mike Rivera of Westwood, New Jersey was the overall male winner in a time of 16:20 and Noelle Thurlow of Hoboken was first for women coming in at 20:04.
