Anthem of Sea Passengers Arrested For Smoking Pot; Horror Cruise Returns To Port

Police arrested two passengers aboard the storm-battered cruise ship after it returned to port in Cape Liberty Cruise Terminal.

First they got stuck in a coastal storm that battered their cruise ship and sent debris flying.

Then, they got arrested for pot possession when their ship finally docked.

A spokesman from the Port Authority of NY/NJ reported that two of the guests aboard the Anthem of the Seas luxury cruise liner – which was recently caught in a massive storm that made national headlines – were arrested for marijuana possession when the ship returned to Cape Liberty Cruise Terminal around 9 p.m. on Wednesday.

Four people suffered minor injuries during the incident, and the ship was ultimately rerouted back to its port of origin.

According to police, crew personnel reportedly smelled cannabis emanating from the guests’ room.

When confronted, the passengers – 21-year-old and 22-year-old males from Winchendon, MA - reportedly admitted to possession of marijuana, Port Authority police stated.

On the ship’s arrival at the terminal, Port Authority Police arrested both suspects without incident and charged them with possession of a CDS.

Both are due back in court on Feb. 22.
