Block Of Newark Street In Hoboken To Be Closed Most Of Thursday

One block of Newark Street in downtown Hoboken will be closed most of Thursday into very early Friday morning. Here's why.

HOBOKEN, NJ — One block of Newark Street in downtown Hoboken will be closed most of Thursday into very early Friday morning, the city said.

Hoboken Office of Emergency Management said the closure will be part of the Hudson County Paving Program.

The street will close from Hudson Street to Washington Street, starting at 6 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 31. The road is anticipated to re-open by 6 a.m. the next day, Friday, Sept. 1.

Hoboken Police Officers will manage traffic flow during construction hours.
