Blue Angels Fly Over NJ, NYC, Phila To Salute Emergency Workers
The squadron saluted all the workers on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic.
NEW JERSEY — Air Force Thunderbirds and the Navy's Blue Angels — the military's elite flight demonstration squadrons — flew around New Jersey, New York City, and Philadelphia after 12 noon on Tuesday in a "collaborate salute" to the essential employees and emergency workers helping amid the spread of coronavirus (you can see the photos and a video below).
As of Tuesday, more than 1 million Americans had tested positive for the virus, and more than 56,000 have died. In New Jersey, the death toll climbed to 6,442 as of Tuesday morning.

Twelve fighter jets participated in the display.
“We are truly excited to take to the skies with our Navy counterparts for a nation-wide tribute to the men and women keeping our communities safe," said U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. John Caldwell, mission commander for the flyover. “We hope to give Americans a touching display of American resolve that honors those serving on the frontline of our fight with COVID-19.”

The Navy website said that the formation of 6 F-16C/D Fighting Flacon and 6 F-18C/D Hornet aircraft were conducting the flyovers to recognize healthcare workers, first responders, military, and other essential personnel while standing in solidarity with all Americans during the COVID-19 pandemic.
