N.J. Man Arrested, Murdered His Mother and Grandmother: Authorities

Authorities have apprehended a man suspected of murdering two of his relatives in a North Jersey apartment, reports say.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — Authorities have apprehended a man suspected of murdering two of his relatives in a North Jersey public housing complex on Monday evening, reports say.

Police have charged Kevin Hodges ,36, with two counts of murder and four counts of weapons offenses in the deaths of his mother and grandmother, News 12 New Jersey reported.

Police found Rebecca Hodgins, 56, and Dorothy Bradshaw, 76, suffering from multiple stab wounds in an apartment on Randolph Avenue around 9 p.m., News 12 stated.

Hodgins and Bradshaw were pronounced dead at Jersey City Medical Center around 9:10 p.m.

During a Tuesday news conference, the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office stated that police responded to the apartment after a bystander allegedly heard a woman screaming for help. When nobody answered the apartment door, officers climbed a fire escape to access the building.

The medical examiner has not yet determined the cause of death for either woman, NJ.com reported.
