Burglar Enters Hoboken Home As Mom Puts Kids To Bed: Cops
When a Hoboken woman heard the door open while putting her kids to bed, she expected her husband. Instead, she found a burglar, police say.

HOBOKEN, NJ — When a Hoboken mother heard the front door open while putting her kids to bed, she expected her husband to walk into the home. Instead, she looked downstairs and saw a burglar, police say.
According to the Hoboken Police Department, the home break-in took place around 8:30 p.m. in the area of 7th and Willow Avenue. The victim told officers that the incident happened about the time her husband usually returns from work.
When she saw the intruder, the woman “began begging the man to leave,” police said. Instead, he ignored her and began walking around the first floor of the home, eventually grabbing her purse and running out of the house.

After arriving on the scene and reviewing video footage of the area, Hoboken officers obtained a description of the suspect and provided it to all on-duty officers. About an hour later, an officer stopped a man that fit the suspect’s description in the area of 1st and Jackson Streets and placed him under arrest.

The man, later identified as Clyde Miller, 36, of Jersey City, also had suboxone and marijuana in his possession when apprehended, police said.
Authorities charged Miller with burglary, theft, and possession of CDS (marijuana and suboxone) with intent to distribute. He also had two outstanding warrants, one out of Jersey City and another out of Union City.
Police returned the purse and some of the cash to its owner, authorities said.
