2 Crashes Cause Hour-Long Delays Into Lincoln Tunnel Wednesday
Two Lincoln Tunnel crashes caused delays of up to an hour during the Wednesday morning commute.
HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — Two crashes inside the Lincoln Tunnel, and disabled trucks and buses on the approaches, made for a long commute into New York City Wednesday morning.
A crash in the center tube of the Lincoln Tunnel just before 7 a.m. blocked all lanes of eastbound traffic, causing hour-long delays getting into New York City, according to the state of New Jersey and the Port Authority.
That crash was cleared around 7:30 a.m., said the Port Authority, but the agency and NJ Transit said it could take an hour for buses and cars to get through the tunnel into Manhattan.
