Crash Into Train Trestle Closes Roads Between Hoboken, Jersey City: Officials
A crash into a train trestle near the Hoboken/Jersey City border has caused a "significant" traffic tie-up, officials said.
HOBOKEN, NJ — A tractor-trailer crash into a train trestle near the Hoboken/Jersey City border has caused "significant" traffic delays, Hoboken officials said just before 7 p.m. Thursday.
The crashed occurred on Jersey Avenue on the Jersey City side, closing the northbound road from the Holland Tunnel area heading into Hoboken. Grove Street is also closed in that area, officials said.
"The Office of Emergency Management encourages drivers to avoid the area of southwest Hoboken, as both inbound Jersey Avenue and Grove Street are closed," the city said. "Drivers into and out of the city should use northern routes."
