JERSEY CITY, NJ — Dave Portnoy, whose "Barstool Pizza" reviews have drawn millions of followers on social media, gave a high review to Jersey City's Bread and Salt two weeks ago. And then he came back to the city for more.

"This place is on all the [best of] lists," he noted about Bread and Salt. "Weird hours...sandwiches look awesome and the pizza looks great too."

He said that rather than just walking up, it may be better to call ahead or order on-line.

"Very crispy, good undercarriage," he said, taking a bite of the Roman pie. "It does kind of have that Roman style to it. Really good. It's the bread that does it."

He gave the Roman pie an 8.1 and a "more flavorful" tomato pie an 8.2.

He wondered aloud who can make the hours: Which are 10-3 Friday through Sunday for online orders at 10-4 in person.

Then he returned last week.

Rustique Pizza

He tried Rustique Pizza, a "tiny little spot" on Jersey Avenue that was voted best mac and cheese.

"Very good," he says, taking a bite of the pizza. "Are we in Hoboken? ...I can tell it's very good."

He gave the shop a 7.9.

He said people had been calling him names because he mostly gives good reviews these days. But he said it's because he's sticking to better places.

Then Portnoy tried Joey Mo's mac and cheese as a "bonus."

"Do I think it's the best I've ever had?" he asked. "No. I mean, it's good. It's good mac and cheese." He gave it a 7.4.
