HOBOKEN, NJ — The owner of a Yorkshire Terrier is claiming that another canine mauled her pet to death at a Hoboken dog park earlier this month, a report says.
The incident took place around 6:30 p.m. on June 3 at Church Square Park when a pit bull attacked Patricia Enrico's terrier in the larger of the park’s enclosed dog runs, causing the animal fatal injuries, she told NJ.com.
According to a police report, the man walking the pit bull denied being responsible for the terrier’s fatal injuries, stating that the terrier was in a section of the park meant for larger dogs. But Enrico told NJ.com that there is no sign at the park that specifies small dogs must be contained in one run.
