HOBOKEN, NJ — D'oh! A deer! Actually, at least two deer!

Apparently, two deer were caught on camera in the mile-square city of Hoboken around 6 a.m. Sunday morning, racing down residential Garden Street (in the Garden State).

Experts say that recent changes in the environment, due to people staying inside amid coronavirus, may have been buoying nature and encouraging animals to return to their natural habitats.

Earlier this month, a baby seal was seen frolicking on the Hoboken waterfront for two days.

Hoboken Police Chief Ken Ferrante confirmed on Sunday:

The chief's tweet indicates that they were last seen heading toward the northwest corner of town, near the Palisade Hills that lead up to Jersey City Heights and Union City.

The original Tweet with the photo is here.

No word on whether the animals visited Adams Street, which was closed to traffic this weekend so people can stroll safely and still keep their (social) distance.
