UPDATE: Washington Street Fire Put Out In Hoboken
The city of Hoboken asked residents on Saturday to avoid one block of Washington Street for hours as they battled a blaze.

HOBOKEN, NJ — [UPDATE: The Police Department said around 7:12 p.m. that the fire was out and the street was back open.]
The Hoboken Fire Department responded to an active fire at 219 Washington St. around 3:45 p.m. Saturday, and officials asked people in the area to avoid that block.
