Off-Duty Hoboken Cop Assaulted With Stun Gun On Halloween: Police
A Hoboken man allegedly shocked an off-duty cop while he was eating at Rome Pizzeria, police say.

An off-duty Hoboken police officer was assaulted and shocked with a stun gun while he ate at a local pizzeria on Halloween, authorities said.
According to police, the off-duty officer – whose name is being withheld – was eating at Rome Pizzeria in the early hours on Saturday, Oct. 31, when a man sat down in the seat next to him.
When the off-duty officer told the man that the seat was being used by a person who had gotten up to get their food, a group of men surrounded him. One of the men then allegedly stepped in front of the officer and pressed a stun gun against his torso, giving him an electric shock.

Reeling in pain and stunned from the shock, the officer then exited the pizzeria and called for backup, police stated.
The man wielding the stun gun fled the scene before other officers could arrive, according to police.

After conducting an investigation into the identity of the alleged attacker, Hoboken police executed a search warrant for Miguel Figueroa, 37, of Hoboken, at his Adams Street home on Nov. 4.
During a search of Figueroa’s residence, police reportedly found an unnamed amount of Oxycodone and an anabolic steroid/testosterone, along with a hypodermic needle.
Police arrested Figueroa and charged him with aggravated assault, possession of a stun gun, possession of a weapon for an unlawful use and related drug possession offenses.
Figueroa was given a bail of $42,000 with a 10 percent option, which he posted, and was released with a court date.
