Elevator From Hoboken To Jersey City Out Of Service After 2 Girls Become Trapped
One elevator from Jersey City to Hoboken's light rail station has been out of service for days, commuters say. NJ Transit responded.

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — After two teens were trapped in one of the light rail elevators on the Hoboken/Jersey City border late last month, an elevator has been taken out of service, frustrating commuters.
Two light rail elevators continually run up and down the Palisade cliffs between Hoboken's Ninth Street Light Rail station (at the base of the hill) to the Jersey City Heights neighborhood (up the hill). Commuters often use the elevators to get to or from work.
On Feb. 28, a Saturday night, two 15-year-old girls became trapped in one of the elevators for approximately two hours, according to news reports.

"Two juveniles were safely removed from the elevator by JCFD," an NJ Transit spokesperson told Patch. "One individual refused medical attention, the second was evaluated on scene by EMS."
As of Wednesday morning, one of the elevators was running, and the door to a stairwell up the hill was open. But one elevator was still out of service.

NJ Transit was asked Tuesday for a timeline of repairs, and the agency said it would respond. Patch will update this story when a response is received.
