** Aerial demonstrations will also be given throughout the evening for those interested in private Aerial lessons.
"A lot of people are looking for ways to bring strength and calm to their busy lives and each of our classes offer that in their own way," said program co-coordinator Joe Kolbow. "Students at any level are welcome at all classes! There's something for everyone, from people who want a tough workout to those who'd rather sit still and meditate."
"Students should come ready to sweat," said co-coordinator and professional Aerialist: Guinevere DiPiazza about her 'Stretch and Strength' class. "I've been a personal trainer for many years, so you'll definitely feel it the next day."
The program also offers private and semi-private aerial lessons, given by Guinevere DiPiazzi. St. John's is one of the few places to offer lessons in Hudson County!
"Aerial work is an incredible way to tone your upper body and strengthen your core muscles," said DiPiazza.
The program, a part of the Arts at St. John's initiative, was spearheaded by Kolbow and DiPiazza as a way to bring something valuable to the community and also to bring much needed income to St. John's.
Class fees range from $12-$20 per class and all profits from the program go to pay basic expenses at the church and fund future Arts at St. John's events.
Classes in Belly Dancing, Stretch and Strength, Kundalini Yoga and Meditation will take place on Tuesday Nights starting at 5:45pm ending on September 4th.
** An additional Meditation class is offered from 11:00am-11:45am on Saturday Mornings ending on September 1st.
