Flood Watch Issued For Hoboken: See Tide Times, Risk Map
"Rounds of heavy showers" may cause flash floods in Hudson County, the NWS says.
HOBOKEN, NJ — A flood watch has been issued for Hudson County for 8 p.m. Sunday through 11 p.m. Monday.
"Rounds of heavy showers with embedded thunderstorms are expected tonight through Monday afternoon with locally high rainfall rates of 1-2 inches per hour possible," the NWS said.
The chance of flooding in Hoboken is highest at high tide, but the tides will be lower this week than this time last week, when there was a full moon.

High tide on the Hudson River in Hoboken and downtown Jersey City on Monday is expected at 12:31 p.m.
"Do not drive around or move barricades," the city said in a message on Sunday. "They are there for your safety, and in some cases, can prevent wake waters that cause even greater damage."

In Hoboken, rainfall of .8 inches per hour may result in flooding, officials have said.

Flooding closed roads and caused damage throughout North Jersey from Monday night into Tuesday, resulting in dramatic photos such as these in the nearby town of Hawthorne:
Hudson County received as much as 1.94 inches of rain during the storms on Tuesday, said the National Weather Service, with Secaucus receiving the most. Hoboken received about an inch, the NWS says.
These amounts were much lower than Passaic County, which got as much as 5.4 inches, and Bergen County, which got 6 inches in some areas.
