Condo In Former Frank Sinatra House In Hoboken Listed For Sale At $3.9M

HOBOKEN, NJ — When Hoboken-born crooner Frank Sinatra ascended to fame in the 1940s, he was able to buy his parents a brownstone on tree-lined Hudson Street.

Now, a four-bedroom, 3,190-square-foot condo in the building has been listed for sale at $3.9 million, the brokers said Wednesday.

The condo has been gut-renovated and contains an au pair quarters, private home office, 4.5 bathrooms, and one-bedroom garden apartment, said the listing agents, Peter Cossio and Wes L. Page of Brown Harris Stevens.

The home is among several where the Sinatra family lived in the first half of the 1900s.

The crooner's family — Fire Captain Anthony and mother Dolly — lived at 415 Monroe St. when he was a baby. The home since burned down and has been replaced by Frank's Place Condos. The singer's star is embedded in the property.

The family also lived on Park Avenue and Garden Street.

According to Census records obtained by Patch, the crooner's parents were still living at 909 Hudson St. as of 1950, and Anthony was still working full-time at the Fire Department. (READ MORE: Census Records Unsealed For Joe Pesci, Frank Sinatra, And Other NJ Residents)

The couple finally left that home in 1953 to move to a house Frank bought for them in Fort Lee.

The Listing

The broker describes the home as "one of Hoboken's most historically significant residences, seamlessly blending timeless brownstone elegance with modern luxury ... showcases soaring ceilings of nearly 12 feet on the parlor level, exquisite custom millwork, wide-plank hardwood flooring, oversized windows, and designer lighting throughout."

There's also a fireplace, formal dining room, chef's kitchen, and back yard.

The home is located a block from the campus of the Stevens Institute of Technology, three blocks from Elysian Park — where "On The Waterfront" was filmed — and within a mile of the Hoboken Train Station.

It's also blocks from the Hudson River waterfront, ferry stop, and buses to Manhattan.
