Former Hoboken First Lady Mary Neumann DePascale Passes Away

The wife of ex-mayor Louis DePascale was 93-years-old.

Former Hoboken First Lady Mary Neumann DePascale passed away on July 20.

Mary Neumann DePascale, 93 years of age, passed away peacefully at Seabrook Village in Tinton Falls, New Jersey on Monday, July 20, 2015.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, she married Louis DePascale in 1946, and moved to Hoboken where he later became Mayor in 1965. Mary served as his valued assistant and first lady of the city during his two terms.

She will be profoundly missed by her loving children, Edward and his wife Diane, Paul and his wife Mary, and Thomas and his wife Geraldine. She is predeceased by her husband Louis who passed away in 1980, her son Joseph who passed away in 1997, and her brother James Neumann. A special joy in her life were her grandchildren, Jessica, Paul, Camille, Nicholas, Justin and Ashley and her cherished great grandchildren, Emily, Madeline, Jackson, Mason, Thomas, Tessa, and Louis.

Mary was a founding member and the first President of the St. Mary Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. She was actively involved in several charitable and civic organizations during her husband’s two terms as Mayor of Hoboken.
