Free Ben & Jerry's Cones And Krispy Kreme Donuts Offered In North Jersey: See When

NORTH JERSEY — It's hard to trust that anything will be free these days, especially with tax deadlines approaching.

But several chain stores with locations in North Jersey have announced giveaways in the next two weeks, including in relation to Tax Day.

No purchase is required with the first giveaway.

Ben & Jerry's Free Cone Day is coming around again this Tuesday, between 12 p.m. and 8 p.m. at participating stories.

Scoop shops on Franklin Avenue in Ridgewood and Washington Street in Hoboken — when contacted by Patch — said they're participating along with the others.

"Every year, we celebrate Free Cone Day at Scoop Shops around the globe, sharing the love with free cups and cones of your favorite Ben and Jerry's flavors," the company says. "It's our way of saying thank you for being the best fans ever. There's no catch and no fine print — just visit your nearest Scoop Shop."

All you have to do is get in line at Ben & Jerry's and pick your scoop from available flavors. Be aware that long lines often form.

Donuts And Guacamole (Not Together)

Two chains are offering giveaways related to Tax Day, but there's a purchase required.

The Mexican food chain Qdoba says they're offering "Tax Day Guac Relief," but you must sign up by Wednesday, and then you have to wait until the following week to get $5 off entrees.

"While Qdoba’s hand‑crafted guac is always free with any Create Your Own entrée, the brand is offering relief for all the times consumers have paid more elsewhere," they say. "From April 20–26, Qdoba Rewards members can score $5 off a full‑sized entrée by filing for relief at TaxDayGuacRelief.com by April 15—just like real taxes!"

A Qdoba survey found that nine out of 10 people have skipped guac because of an upcharge, they say. Sign up here.

As for donuts, Krispy Kreme has a "buy one get one free" offer on Tax Day for a dozen glazed donuts. So you can pick one up for your office, or a sweet friend.

Cheap Smoothies In Wyckoff And Beyond

There's one more deal being offered by a chain this week, in light of the coming 80 degree temperatures.

This one isn't free, but visitors to Tropical Smoothie can get any 24 ounce smoothie for $5 before 10 a.m., said a spokesperson. The offer is valid in the cafe or via the app using VACAY5 at checkout. It’s not valid for third party delivery. The Wyckoff location shared the deal here.
