Free Skin Cancer Screenings In Hoboken
A short full-body exam has helped to detect 8,500 suspected cancers since 2008, event organizers say.

The Skin Cancer Foundation’s Road to Healthy Skin Tour will stop in Hoboken to offer free full body skin cancer screenings to the public on Wednesday, July 1, from 1 to 5 p.m., at Rite Aid, 1300 Willow Ave.
Volunteer dermatologist Alberto Fernandez- Obregon will administer full body skin cancer screenings in a private exam room in the Tour’s 38-foot, customized RV.
In addition, participants will receive educational materials on skin cancer and sun protection and information on Receutics Active Skin Repair.

Screenings are first come, first served.
According to event organizers, skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the U.S., with more than 3.5 million cases diagnosed annually. The goal of the Tour is to save lives by detecting skin cancers early on and educating the public about skin cancer prevention by means of sun protection and the need for prompt, effective treatment.

Since the Tour began in 2008, more than 20,000 people have received free screenings. More than 8,500 suspected precancers and cancers have been detected, including more than 350 suspected melanomas.
