Groups To Hold Rally In Hoboken For Ceasefire In Gaza
A group of organizations will hold a rally at Hoboken City Hall this week for a ceasefire in Gaza.

HOBOKEN, NJ — A Hudson County-based group said this week that they will hold a rally in front of Hoboken City Hall on Wednesday to urge a ceasefire in the fighting in Gaza.
CeasefirenowNJ and other groups have planned the event for Valentine's Day, Feb. 14, 5:30 p.m., at City Hall at 94 Washington St.
City spokesperson Marilyn Baer said, "The city and Hoboken Police Department are aware of this privately planned and organized protest."

A recent resolution for a ceasefire, proposed nearby in Jersey City, failed to pass when some argued that the sponsors should also urge the release of Israeli hostages still being held.
Tensions have risen in the United States since the Oct. 7 massacre in which the terrorist group Hamas killed more than 1,000 people in Israel, including more than 300 at a music festival, and kidnapped other adults and children from their homes.

Since then, more than 28,000 Palestinian adults and children have been killed as a result of the fighting, the Associated Press reported, and others are sheltering in tents.
According to the BBC, among Israeli hostages being held by Hamas, two were rescued over the weekend.
