HBLR Riders Muddle Through Friday Rush Hour Delays

Hudson Bergen Light Rail service was temporarily suspended between Newport and 2nd Street, and in/out of Hoboken Terminal, NJ Transit said.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Once again, “signal problems” have caused delays for NJ Transit riders. During the Friday morning rush hours, Hudson Bergen Light Rail riders were hit with extensive delays that temporarily suspended service in both directions between Newport and 2nd Street, authorities said.

The signal problems also caused a service suspension for the HBLR line in and out of Hoboken Terminal, NJ Transit officials stated Friday morning.

NJ Transit authorities announced shortly after 8 a.m. that service on the HBLR line resumed with 15-minute delays in both directions systemwide. The signal problems were still causing “15-minute delays” on the HBLR line in both directions, officials stated around 9 a.m.
