Here's Who's Running For 3 Seats On Hoboken School Board This Year
Unlike last year's heated Hoboken school board election, only 4 people are running for 3 seats in November. See who they are.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Unlike last year's heated Hoboken Board of Education election, only four candidates are running this November for three seats on the nine-member board.
Last year, eight candidates vied for three seats, and national politics came into play.
Also at issue was the recently failed $241 million referendum to renovate and expand the school's aging buildings.

This year, a slate of seasoned board members is running, as well as independent candidate Patricia Waiters, who has run unsuccessfully several times.

It consists of Board President Sharyn Angley, member Chetalia Khanna and past board member Sheilah Dallara.
They released a joint statement early this month:
Moms Leading Progress Statement
We are moms. We are experienced board trustees. We are committed to the Hoboken Public School District, and to the Hoboken community.
Collectively, we have eight children in the Hoboken Public School District from Pre-K through 11th grade, three of which will be attending Hoboken High School next year.
We have volunteered our time over the last eight years to advance progress in the district. The district has experienced tremendous growth over that time in a variety of ways, from academic success to enrollment growth to the creation of out of the classroom offerings and opportunities provided for all students.
We aren’t done yet. Public schools are the backbone to a strong community. We are committed to being leaders in our community to continue to advance progress within our schools and to make the Hoboken Public School District a premier educational choice.
