Hoboken Burglary Suspect Has Been Arrested 19 Times In 2 Years: Cops

Hoboken police say that David Diaz's latest burglary took place just hours after he was released for another suspected theft.

HOBOKEN, NJ — On Friday, Hoboken police officers apprehended David Diaz, 34, a local man who has been arrested in connection with burglary and theft-related crimes 19 times since March 2015.

According to the Hoboken Police Department, Diaz has an “extensive criminal history” with numerous burglary and theft charges. Authorities said that Diaz was charged with burglary, possession of burglar tools and theft in connection with the latest incident, which took place on the 200 block of Grand Street on May 30.

The May 30 burglary took place just hours after Diaz was released from police custody for his alleged role in another theft that took place on Feb. 17, police said.

Diaz’s most recent charges were placed on a warrant, and police transported him back to the Hudson County Correctional Facility where he will await a pre-trial hearing, authorities said.
