Hoboken To Close Waterfront Walkway And Parks Due To Nor'easter

HOBOKEN, NJ — The city of Hoboken will close the waterfront walkway and four parks along the Hudson River for much of the weekend due to the predicted nor'easter, officials said.

Expected rainfall amounts have increased in the last few days, and up to an inch of rain is predicted on Saturday and on Sunday, the National Weather Service said. READ MORE: Rain Estimates Rise For Hoboken During Nor'easter: See Flood Risk Map

The city also said that the uptown farmers' market is canceled for Saturday, and recreation programs are canceled this weekend. The River City Fair has been postponed. READ MORE: River City Fair Postponed Due To Nor'easter.

The Coastal Flood Advisory is in effect from 6 p.m. tonight through 6 p.m. Sunday.

What's Closed, And When

The waterfront walkway along the Hudson River will close starting Saturday aT 6 a.m. through noon on Sunday.

Pier A Park near the train station, as well as Pier C, Sinatra Park, and Maxwell Park will also be closed during that time.

Sinatra Drive between Fourth Street and Sinatra Drive North will be closed to all traffic by the Hoboken Police Department when needed, the city said.

Hoboken officials have said in the past that the city's low-lying areas can flood if more than .8 inch of rain falls in an hour.
