A pair of college sweethearts in Hoboken have put out an inspiring message about their desire to “adopt a newborn child of any race” to add to their loving family.
"Vivian and Jamie" are now in their 30s and are married with a son, Lucas. But after discovering that they’re unable to have more children, the couple are turning to adoption for a chance to bring another child into their lives.

“Becoming parents has been the best experience of our lives,” the couple wrote on a website that they’ve set up to explain their desire to adopt another child. “We are so excited at the thought of expanding our family.”
That includes their birth son, they said. “Lucas is thrilled to become a big brother and can’t wait to meet the baby,” the couple wrote.

Part of their strength is rooted in their hometown: Hoboken.
“We are lucky to live in a family-oriented, ethnically diverse town near New York City so we have the best of both worlds – all the benefits a big city has to offer when we want it and peace and quiet when we do not,” they wrote.
“The community of friends we have made in our neighborhood is our lifeline,” the couple continued. “They are truly our ‘village’; we share the same values, and we all jump in to help each other. They have become some of our closest friends with whom we celebrate holidays, birthdays and vacations. Summer is our absolute favorite time of year because all the neighborhood kids head to the nearby park for picnic dinners almost every night after camp. The kids have all gone to camp together for years and have grown up with each other.”
The couple are offering a heartfelt promise to potential adopters:
“We promise to raise your child with love and devotion in a secure home with lots of fun. We will always speak lovingly about you and your sacrifice and be open with our children about the adoption. We would love to speak with you.”
