Hoboken Election Guide 2017: Mayor, Council, BOE Candidates

See the Hoboken candidates that will compete for your vote in November.

HOBOKEN, NJ — There are 27 names that Hoboken residents need to know before heading into the voting booth on Tuesday, Nov. 7. That’s the number of local candidates in an uber-crowded field for mayor, city council and the board of education in the 2017 general election.

Much of the attention from Hoboken voters will go to the race for mayor, a coveted seat of power not up for grabs since 2009. Don’t forget to visit the Patch Hoboken Facebook page here.

Dawn Zimmer, the city’s first female mayor, announced that she will not seek another term earlier this year.

But there are also 14 candidates vying for three at-large seats on the Hoboken City Council, as well as seven candidates for three open seats on the Hoboken Board of Education. Check out our full list below (in alphabetical order).
