Hoboken Fall Soccer Signups Have Begun: Deadline And Rules
The city of Hoboken has opened up registration for its fall soccer program. Here are the signup deadline and the league rules.
HOBOKEN, NJ — Even though summer hasn't begun, signups for Hoboken's popular fall soccer program kicked off (so to speak) last week.
In Recreation Soccer, kids are randomly put on teams for their age group and play each weekend. Coaches must follow rules about eligibility, who plays, and more, outlined here. Rules include:
- Boys Travel Players U9 and higher will not be able to play. This includes playing for any travel league or club outside of Hoboken.
- All players must play at least a half of the entire game.
- U5 and U6 games are not official games. Scores and standings are not kept.
- Teams are formed randomly each season. Coaches cannot keep the same teams year over year.
- Parents cannot request for players to play on specific teams.
Parents don't have to rush to sign up. The deadline is not until July 10, said a city spokesperson.

As for summer programming, so far, Hoboken has also opened up signups for summer gymnastics and baseball clinics, but those signups were missing from the recreation website as of this past weekend. Patch has asked the city for an update and is awaiting a response.
The city has a new recreation division head to bring more programs.
