Hoboken Halloween Event: Ragamuffin Parade, Costume Contest

The City of Hoboken's 2017 Ragamuffin Parade and Costume Contest will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 31.

HOBOKEN, NJ — The City of Hoboken’s 2017 Ragamuffin Parade and Costume Contest will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 31.

According to a municipal news release, to participate in the annual parade, participants should meet on Washington Street between 13th Street and 14th Street. Setup for line of march begins at 3:15 p.m. The parade starts at 3:30 p.m.

The parade will include local live music, floats and “lots of great costumes,” organizers said.

A costume contest will begin at 4 p.m. after the parade at the Little League Field, located at 5th Street and River Terrace. Prizes will be awarded in five age categories.

The event will feature host and emcee, “Polka Dot.”

Washington Street will be closed and NJ Transit buses will follow a detour during the parade, city officials stated.
