Hoboken Man Charged With Possession Of Gun, Crack Cocaine, Heroin

Police say he had a .38 special revolver. He was also charged with intent to distribute near a school zone.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Hoboken police arrested a city resident on Wednesday morning for possession of a firearm, possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, and possession with intent to distribute heroin.

Thomas Steed, 27, was arrested at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday at 310 Marshall Drive, at the city's affordable housing projects.

Police say that they were called to the corner of Third Street and Marshall Drive on the report of a male with a gun.

Numerous police arrived and began speaking with Thomas Steed of Hoboken.

Det. Sgt. William Collins observed the outline of a gun, police said. They said Steed was arrested and a five-shot revolver was recovered (USA Charter arms Undercover .38 special).

Additionally, during the search incident to arrest, officers recovered crack/cocaine, heroin, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and money, police said.

Steed was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and then transported to the county jail.

Steed was charged with the following 12 offenses:

  • Unlawful Possession of a Firearm,
  • Certain Persons not to have Weapons Possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose,
  • Possessing a weapon while committing narcotic offenses,
  • Possession with intent to distribute CDS/Crack Cocaine within 500 feet of public housing,
  • Possession with intent to distribute CDS/Heroin within 500 feet of public housing,
  • Possession with intent to distribute CDS/Crack Cocaine,
  • Possession with intent to distribute CDS/Heroin,
  • Possession with intent to distribute CDS/Crack Cocaine within 1,000 feet of a school zone,
  • Possession with intent to distribute CDS/Heroin within 1,000 feet of a school zone,
  • Possession of CDS/Marijuana),
  • Drug Paraphernalia, and
  • Defiant Trespassing.

The following officers were involved with the arrest: Lt. Ranaldo Gonzalez; officers William Bullock, Marco Grossman, Nick Valerius, Michael Aviles, Harold Milne, James Barbro, and Enrico Gnassi; Det. Sgt. William Collins, Det. Michael Losurdo, David DiMartino, and Paul Quinn.
