Hoboken Man Owed $37K In Tolls and Fees: Holland Tunnel Arrest
Police arrested a Hoboken man after learning that he allegedly owes more than $37,800 in tolls and fees, authorities said.
Hoboken, NJ – Port Authority police arrested a Hoboken man on Thursday morning after learning that he allegedly owes more than $37,800 in tolls and fees, authorities said.
A Port Authority of NY/NJ spokesman said that a police captain in a patrol car allegedly saw Willie Reyes, 34, of Hoboken, drive his 2011 Nissan Rogue through a toll lane at the Holland Tunnel without paying.
After the sign at the tollbooth registered a “non-payment,” the officer pulled Reyes over and found that he had a suspended license and owed more than $37,800 in tolls and fees, authorities said.

Police impounded Reyes’ vehicle and charged him with theft of service and driving with a suspended/revoked license.
