HOBOKEN, NJ — As holiday shopping picks up in force starting with Cyber Monday festivities, local residents are encouraged to shop local as a way of supporting local businesses. And starting this past weekend, it won’t cost shoppers a dime to park.

The City of Hoboken announced that municipal lots will be offering four free hours of parking on weekends running through Dec. 26. The free parking will be offered at Municipal Lot B (28 2nd Street), Lot D (215 Hudson St.) and Midtown (371 4th St.)

In order to redeem the free parking at the three parking garages, drivers will need to show the parking attendant a receipt showing at least a $20 purchase from a local retailer or restaurant. The city is also offering discounted metered parking for on-street parking and drivers must use the promo code “PARKHOB” in the ParkMobile app to receive 50 percent off of parking in select zones through the end of the year.
