Hoboken Pizzeria That Closed Will Become Steakhouse: Report
A popular corner pizzeria in Hoboken will be transformed into a steakhouse.
HOBOKEN, NJ — After Johnny Pepperoni, a 16-year-old Hoboken pizzeria, closed on June 30, owner John Avoletta told Patch that something special would arrive in its place.
Avoletta — who also owns Citi Bistro and the new Viv & Jules in the mile-square city — said he was working on a new concept, and had acquired a liquor license, which the pizzeria never had.
The restaurant was known for unique pizzas like a hot honey pepperoni pie, as well as dishes such as shrimp scampi and Gnocchi al Tartufo.
