Hoboken Police Arrest 21 During Halloween Weekend 2016

Hoboken police had a busy Halloween weekend for 2016, tallying 21 arrests and answering almost 500 calls for service.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Hoboken police had a busy Halloween weekend for 2016, tallying 21 arrests and answering almost 500 calls for service on Friday, Oct. 28 and Saturday, Oct. 29, authorities said.

“I’m proud of the professionalism and control our officers maintained while handling hundreds of calls and over 20 arrests,” Hoboken Police Chief Kenneth Ferrante said.

Police said that the 21 arrests included a plethora of charges:

  • 7 bail jumping
  • 7 resisting arrest
  • 4 aggravated assaults on a police officer
  • 4 obstructing of administrative law
  • 2 aggravated assault
  • 2 simple assault
  • 2 disorderly conduct
  • 3 D.W.I.
  • 1 possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose
  • 1 unlawful use of a weapon
  • 1 possession of CDS (marijuana)
  • 1 possession of drug paraphernalia
  • 1 throwing of bodily fluids
  • 1 failure to register (Megan’s Law)

Hoboken police said that in addition to the above charges, other statistics over the two-day period included:

  • 34 ambulance calls
  • 14 motor vehicle accidents
  • 28 fights (up from 23 in 2015)
  • 24 motor vehicle summonses (down from 35 in 2015)
  • 18 city ordinance violations involving intoxicated or disorderly person-related offenses
