A Hoboken School And A Camp Offer One-Night Child Care Options

Want to drop your kids off for date night, at a place with activities? Some Hoboken businesses have the answer.

HOBOKEN, NJ — A local activity center has started offering date-night dropoffs for parents, and a local school for the arts has been doing the same for a while.

Last month, Play! Hoboken announced a creative idea: Parents who wanted to see a play, "Seventh Inning Stretch," at the local professional theater, Mile Square Theatre, could drop their kids off for pizza, ice cream, board games, and pinball for an extra price. Play! Hoboken is large indoor space near Church Square Park that has indoor games, gaming activities, and a "Hoboken Adventures" camp in summer.

Owner Ian Rintel said that after testing that concept, the company is going to start offering a "Children's Night Out" option for parents to drop off four or more kids at $100 for two hours. Once a date is reserved, they may open the night to individual kids.

"Play! Hoboken will entertain children with supervised activities to give parents time to run errands, go out to dinner, see a movie, or even attend a wedding!" they noted, with dates available throughout August, more hours available on weekends.

Another business that's been offering date nights is Garden Stree School of the Arts, which regularly has "Kids' Nights" with a theme, as well as pizza, dessert, and activities for ages 4-10. Find out more here.
