Hoboken Schools Announce Snowstorm Schedule

The schools will have a 1 p.m. dismissal Wednesday and a remote learning day Thursday.

HOBOKEN, NJ — The Hoboken public schools will have a 1 p.m. dismissal on Wednesday and go remote on Thursday because of a predicted snowstorm, Superintendent Christine Johnson announced Tuesday.

The current forecast for Hoboken says the snow will start around 4 p.m. Wednesday and continue through the night, with a total accumulation of more than a foot.

Various districts began releasing their snow plans over the weekend, a mix of remote learning and traditional days off.

Two superintendents in New Jersey said Monday that they felt kids deserve a traditional Snow Day off after a tough year. Mahwah's superintendent said the days are for "memory making" and not remote learning. In Cinnaminson, the superintendent said, "Far too many chances for them to play and 'just be a kid' have been taken from them over the last nine months. It will be nice to see them enjoy one of the true gifts of childhood."
