Coronavirus Signs Of The Times In Hoboken (PHOTOS)

Coronavirus-related signs posted on stores and poles around the mile-square city in New Jersey range from hopeful to humorous to confused.

HOBOKEN, NJ — In Hoboken, the mile-square city across the river from Manhattan, restaurants were offering delivery and takeout while residents appeared to be heeding Gov. Phil Murphy's directive Saturday afternoon to stay indoors to slow the spread of the new coronavirus.

Over the last week, stores began putting up signs explaining why they were closing or changing to delivery only — with the messages reflecting a range of tones, including some that were humorous.

A dentist promised his patients, "This too shall pass. It may pass like a kidney stone, but it will pass."

Other notices reflected the management's attempts to keep up with daily directives, with dates changed on the signs.
