In Hoboken: Waterfront III Snags Regus as New Tenant
Multi-national corporation joins Pearson and Jet in 500,000 square foot complex.

The Waterfront Corporate Center III has snagged another tenant.
On Thursday, SJP Properties announced that Regus - a multinational corporation that provides global workplace – signed a 40,000 square foot office lease at the River Street property.
Regus joins other high-profile companies such as testing giant Pearson Education and e-commerce venture Jet, who have relocated offices to the 14-story, 500,000 square foot building, which city officials and its developers have maintained will “generate significant economic growth” for the city’s 26-acre waterfront, mixed-use master plan neighborhood.

Not all members of the Hoboken community have embraced the influx of corporate tenants, however.
In March, a group of activists gathered at the office complex to protest an alleged $83 million tax break given to Pearson for moving 628 employees from Bergen County to Hudson County. [See related Patch article here]

“Pearson stands to reap corporate tax breaks for shuffling jobs from Upper Saddle River to Hoboken at cost to school funding, property tax relief and other essential investments,” activists stated during the protest.
