Hoboken's Music Scene: Enjoy Virtual Screening Of Short Film Sunday

HOBOKEN, NJ —Let's face it: You know when to go out, and when to stay in. Sunday will be a good day to stay in and view a virtual screening of "A Mile Square of Music: 1960 to 1970," which will offer residents young and old a glimpse into the City's past music scene. There will also be a Q&A after.

The 30-minute film documents some of Hoboken's influential musical past with interviews of Hoboken residents as well as headliners like Luke Faust of The Insect Trust (which also included Robert Palmer), Julio Fernandez of Spyro Gyra, and more.

The City's Cultural Affairs Administrator Geri Fallo spearheaded the project produced by Branding Shorts in partnership with the Hoboken Historical Museum. It represents the culmination of a yearlong endeavor to provide a compelling piece of oral history following months of research and
socially distanced interviews.

The free virtual screening will be held at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 30, on the Hoboken Historical Museum's Facebook and YouTube pages.

The program will include a live Q & A session with special guests following the film.

Next month, transcripts and audio files of the complete interviews will be made publicly available through the Hoboken Historical Museum and Hoboken Public Library.

The program is made possible by a grant from the New Jersey State Historical Commission, a Division of the Department of State, and administered by the Hudson County Office of Cultural and Heritage Affairs, Hudson County Executive Thomas DeGise, and the Board of County Commissioners.
