Hudson County Court Workshop: How To Expunge Criminal Records

What's an "expungement" and how can it help if you have a criminal record? Find out at this free, public workshop in Hudson County.

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — The Hudson Vicinage will hold a free seminar on record expungements on Wednesday, May 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Mary McLeod Bethune Community Center, 140 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Jersey City.

A panel of presenters, including the ombudsman and representatives from Northeast New Jersey Legal Services, the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office, and staff from the Superior Court’s criminal division, will present general information about the expungement process. No individual cases will be discussed or resolved.

The seminar, hosted by the Royal Men Foundation, will provide participants with information on the type of criminal and juvenile records that can be expunged, the time requirements to be eligible for expungement, how to prepare and file an expungement and what happens after an expungement is granted.

The Royal Men Foundation is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote the leadership potential of men in the Greenville area of Jersey City.
